I’ve got a National Match M1-A that I’d like to use as a test platform for ss ammunition. I’ve been hand-rolling my own for quite a while but I generally stay withing the recommended velocities and pressures for obvious reasons.

M1-A’s don’t like velocities much above 2600 fps or so. I’ve never tried sub-1100 fps before. Does that stuff have enough impulse to cycle the action reliably?

Thanks.

EBR requires manually cycling the action. “You want it that way” is what they’ll say. Best thing about the M1A is that cycling the action is much easier than cycling an AR10, in the case of subsonic ammo.
