On the 155 I would handle one of the over 200 pound spades entirely on my own, that freed up an extra man for digging the holes for the spade or some other function, this was invaluable for ‘quick fires’, digging holes, 93 pound rounds, removing and maneuvering a 13,000 pound gun for set up, women don’t belong anywhere near the artillery.
