Im curious what unalienable right you think this law violates.
I don't. That's why I said I was not referring to the specific matter at hand. Though, now that I think of it, it could probably violate the right of the people to peaceably assemble, ha ha ha; assemble in the sense of insert tab A into slot B.

The law is to prevent a teacher who has authority over a student to take advantage or coerce a student into doing something he or she might not want to do.

Re:
Not sure why it is a felony to have sex with someone of age. While it is a breach of trust between teacher and studant, can someone explain why this if a felony? Gadzooks! What are you smoking? Or better yet, how old is your bed mate?

Recruiting is also happening at gay clubs in High Schools, often “sponsored” by colleges looking for youngins

Kennedale is a town of about 7,300 residents near Arlington eight miles southeast of Fort Worth. The high school has about 3,200 students.
Is there anything more annoying than sloppy journalism?
Many small towns in Texas near major metropolitan areas get swallowed up by the growth of the cities. The town's school district could cover a large rural area. That rural area then gets covered up by urban sprawl. Hence a small town with a very large school district population.

How could the students be coerced or intimidated into a relationship? All they would have to do is report it and she becomes a felon.

I can't believe I have to explain this on a conservative website!
That is what happens when you have so many people on this site who come here just to argue with a fence post.

“how about president and intern”
What about it? There is no law against a president gettin a hummer from his intern, as long as it’s voluntary.
While I agree that a teacher probably shouldn’t be bangin his/her students, I still find it silly that it’s illegal, as long as both people are over 18.

(Republicans that vote for socialism, support socialists are socialists.)
I used to have a mentor who told me, “There will come a day when you are sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair and you will ‘hit’ anything, and you won’t be able to. So, don’t get all high and mighty. When you get the chance, you take it.”
Not always the best advice. But when it comes to guilty or not guilty one needs to consider it.
