Well I did not post the article, but no problem there. And I didn’t like Cain’s comments either BTW.
But a little word of warning: just because you don’t know something, it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. A number of people are taking it to Obama and other liberals including Cain. His bully statement was about Trump’s idea that Trump could just get on the phone and bully China or OPEC into reducing oil prices or altering their currency, etc. Cain is no kid glove guy on Obama.
In fact, Cain is far harsher towards liberalism in general than Trump is, perhaps because Trump is somewhat liberal himself. I mean, for all of Trump’s harrumph on Obama, he kissed Pelosi and Emmanual’s rear end in public, and oh yeah, Chuck Schumer’s too.
I love the way Trump took it to Obama, but Trump himself was pathetic towards liberals in general, and that’s a problem.
Palin is my first choice but shes not announced anything.
Cain is announcing this Saturday. He's planning a huge rally in downtown Atlanta, and it isn't announce he's not running.
Palin is at least making noises about running (although personally, I do not think she is going to run), but she has at least gone out of her way the keep the door open.
West has gone out of his way to slam the door shut. He's not being coy, he's being blunt--he is not running.
For the sake of argument which would be the better candidate IF they ran.
Why waste time on hypotheticals that will never happen? There's not IF with West, he isn't running. It's like talking about what would happen if Chevy Chase or Tony Romo were to decide to run. It's not happening, they're not running, it's a waste of time.
Conservatives need to coalese around a single candidate to avoid what happened last time (which resulted in a RINO nominee). It's the reason I think Palin needs to make a decision (one way or the other) now, and why we need to focus on people that are actually running. Doing this early will winnow out the conservative candidates so we can be united behind a single candidate come the first primary.
The alternative (which includes wishing some dream candidate jumps in at the last minute) is to have multiple conservative candidates running come the primaries, conservatives splitting their vote, and the RINO (most likely Romney, imho) getting the nomination.
So yes, I think a focus on candidates that have said they aren't running will have a damaging effect on getting an actual tea party type conservative nominated.
They are all pathetic toward liberals, but heck, keep trashing Trump for being “pathetic toward liberals”. Good grief.
Free Republic is a great place to express your opinion isn’t it?
>>> They are all pathetic toward liberals, but heck, keep trashing Trump for being pathetic toward liberals. >>>
Well, for one, I never trashed Trump. I praised him for trashing Obama but I very correctly pointed out that he is very soft on liberals and in fact is a bit liberal himself. That is called fact, not trash.
And second, a lot of the GOP folks are very good on attacking liberals and liberalism in general, and this includes Cain. He has a long history of doing it on radio and in print as well as this campaign season. Others like Palin and Bachmann and West and Rubio and DeMint are good at it too.
You seem obsessed with two personalities: Trump and Obama. I’m more concerned with ideas: liberalism v. conservatism.
WRONG! I am obsessed about one personality and that is Obama. I am sick of hearing candidates or potential candidates go after everyone but Obama. I don't give a damn if Romney is Mormon. I don't give a damn if Cain had cancer. I don't give a damn if Palin wears lipstick. etc. I care about what Obama is doing to this country. I want to hear candidates point out what a disaster Obama's policies are. I want to hear them tell America what is going to happen if we continue on the same path. And I want to hear how they plan to fix our problems. OBAMA is the enemy.
Obama is the enemy yes, but merely a symptom. Liberalism is the real problem. And I’m sorry, you can’t really fight Obama while liking Pelosi and Eammanuel and Schumer and supporting universal health care and trashing Paul Ryan and so on. Trump finally figured that out. How bout you?
