SAN DIEGO (AP) -- The Navy is considering naming a cargo ship that's being built after farmworker activist Cesar Chavez.
James Gill, a spokesman for General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego, said Monday the company suggested the name to honor its mostly Hispanic work force and the mostly Hispanic neighborhood, Barrio Logan, where the boat builder is located.

A decade ago, one of our City Council members, just days after being re-elected with the help of our largely Hispanic city union members, proposed city employees be given a paid day off in honor of Cesar’s birthday. Whereupon, I demanded that city employees also be given Arnold Von Winkelried’s birthday off, arguing that it was discriminatory to recognize one ethnic hero while ignoring another.
It didn’t go over well...

Latino rights? LOL!
Our rights have pretty much become balkanized. There are rights for women, homos, Latinos, Blacks, and on and on. The Pledge Of Allegiance doesn’t seem to reflect that.

This isn’t a joking matter, but the government has turned our country into a joke, so...
Will the fantail have a giant bobble-head chihuahua?
Will the bridge windows be lined with dingle-balls?
Is the ship going to be painted flourescent green with orange superstructure?
Is it going to bounce at the pier?
Will it automatically run aground when it gets within sight of the US coast?

Next thing you know they’ll be proposing a ship be named the USS Mao Tse Tung in honor of the Chinese and Asian communities. How about USS Stalin or USS Idi Amin? Let’s see if USS Fidel Castro goes over well. How about the USS Marx?

First Murtha and now this bastard! It makes me sick to see vessels staffed by our valiant naval officers and enlisted personnel named after these scum-sucking leftists! Why don't they just commission a triad of ships and call them the Marx, the Lenin and the Stalin and be done with it. With the politically correct - i.e. Communist inspired - agenda they're imposing on our military they may as well go all the way! Please excuse me while I barf my guts out!

How about the USS Marx? Should be interesting at parades, a whole crew carrying cigars and marching in a crouch.
