Newt Gingrich was on Meet the Press this morning in his first Sunday show appearance since announcing his intention to challenge President Obama for the Democrat nomination, apparently.
Andrew Stiles at NRO has the details:
Newt Gingrichs appearance on Meet the Press today could leave some wondering which partys nomination he is running for. The former speaker had some harsh words for Paul Ryans (and by extension, nearly every House Republicans) plan to reform Medicare, calling it radical.

Thankfully.......
Stumbles? I'd call it a full out "face plant."
Newt’s finished.
All I need to know about Newt is that, in 1994, the Republicans swept to victory in the Congress with a huge mandate from the electorate and, as Speaker, Newt pi$$ed it all away.
Seems more like “Newt gets caught on gate while trying to exit.”
Stumbles? The point is, he’s at the wrong gate.
They Shoot Horses! ...Don’t They?
Bump to your post.
That was funny........and accurate.
Reminiscent of the Castro fall.
You'd think she'd figure out by now why anything flowing from THAT SOURCE is necessarily illegitimate.
Doesn't have a thing to do with Newt. He has things he's done and things he's written, and speeches he's given. He has his name on legislative proposals form way back so we can look at what he really thinks.
On the other hand, these Leftists are sitting there with questions ginned up by teams of people that are designed to elicit answers that sound (a) confused (b) contrary to previous positions (c) intended to PO Conservatives.
We know that so why do we have so many Republicans and Conservatives sucking on Gregory's nether regions this morning?
What's wrong with you people?
There's a very long campaign season coming up and it's one of the most important in our history. WE CANNOT allow Leftwingtard generated "sound bytes" control the course of the election. The time to stop that is now, else we'll end up with another McCain and Goober will win again.
We don’t need another McCain. This election is too important.
I'm going to count the one liners at the end of this thread!
This just shows how out of touch the RINO’s are within this party. Rove probably counceled him on this.
“Newt...has things he’s done and things he’s written, and speeches he’s given. He has his name on legislative proposals form way back so we can look at what he really thinks.”
Yes we do.
And, as noted, some are wondering which party he’s running for.
Yes, there is an impressive history of staunch conservatism there.
And, as noted, some history which makes conservatives shout “WTF?”
I think you’re missing the point, muawiyah.
Newt IS another McCain.
We RINOs who've never been able to take down or de-fund any socialist playpens (Dept of Ed, Dept of Agric, EPA, Planned Predators, NEA, NPR, etc.) will, of course, perhaps, perchance allocate less of a contribution instead of an all-out elimination.
And, of course, Newt's sordid past, altho totally excusable and noteworthy for a registered libtard, will be found to be unforgivable and will drag his sorry a$$ down because he's not a registered libtard.
This is just what we need, we sorry a$$ conservatives . . . this is what we need to throw that illegal alien out of our White House . . . another media appeaser and hypocrite.
I don't think that's what is happening.
It seems much more likely that Gingrich showed his liberal side and a conservative is calling him on it.
In this most important election, we don't need a clever echo to the Bambi agenda, an that's what the author is pointing out.
I concur. He's toast before he ever got to be bread!!
