It don’t do a damn bit of good to know the Republican Platform. They say one thein and then do another, namely, what ever the main stream media and/or Democrat Party tell them to do. A/L/a one Johm Mc Cain, the sweetheart of Arizona and many on this forum and Lindsey Graham, the Queen of South Carolina, to name two.

While your words contain a good deal of sense, I'm not reading the platform to find out if professional republican politicians actually adhere to it.

Instead, I'm reading it (and the democrat one too) to find out how they each compare with where I actually stand on the issues.

Doing this helps me look at where I stand on the political spectrum, and if a third party actually starts, where I would like to see it on that same spectrum.

Just a few of many examples
1. Abortion
2. Use of the US Military,
3. US Debt,
4. Federal Gov't's role in supporting a polyglot nation of mixed races, beliefs, social strata, etc.
5. Illegal aliens/migrants
6. Energy and man influenced climate change,
7. Fed's role in "creating jobs",
8. Taxation (in all it's many forms and guises),
9. Education,
10. Self-help vs handout.

These really are just a few....and I know where I - internally - stand on them. So now, I'm going to dig deep on these and many others and find out where the two predominate parties stand on them.

Just keeping a very old mind active.
