Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Sunday that he strongly supports a federal mandate requiring citizens to buy health insurance a position that has been rejected by many Republicans, including several who likely will be running against him for the Republican presidential nomination.
Appearing on NBCs Meet the Press, Gingrich told host David Gregory that he continues to advocate for a plan he first called for in the early 1990s as a Congressman, which requires every uninsured citizen to purchase or acquire health insurance.

I will ask him. He better get a handle on this socialism or he has no chance at all.
Amazing - HOW TOTALLY TONE DEAF can one man be... Shoot yourself in the foot there Newt? Good God Almighty - Stupid is as Stupid does...
I could care less about the inner-working of your brain. I want Gingrich on the campaign trail and I want to see a debate.
no one......no one can defeat Gingrich in a debate....not even close. You may not like him, but he is the most gifted debater that I have ever seen!!!
democrat voters, maybe. Dang sure not us.
YOU are part of THE problem.
Newt dead in the water from the start...early stage dementia?
I don’t give a sh!t about his debating skills, he is not the answer to turning this country around, and anyone who supports that POS is part of THE problem, IMO.
Dede Scozzafava?

You are way inside of the box and my time is short. Think for just a minute what the experience could provide for the other candidates. It isn’t that hard.
instead of a contract with america he wants to put a contract out on america. or sumfin. well bye bye gingrich it was nice knowin’ ya, don’t let the door hit your rear on the way out.
There is absolutely no need to see Newt Gingrich in any debates.
He will not win the republican nomination.
He will simply siphon off votes from a true conservative candidate.
He doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning.
In the race already, or waiting in the wings?
get seriour for a change...debate skills are critical in a presidential campaign....vote for who you like, but first defeat the democrats with a comparison of ideas.Newt is the best there is....let him debate them, cause some doubt in their voters, and nominate whom everyou choose.....never give up a weapon as effective as Newt.
Oh, and quit talking about my desires unless you can take out 20 pine trees behind my house.
Who cares WHAT the “experience” will be for “other” candidates?
Having him as part of the “debates” detracts from more valuable input to be derived from having useful (i.e. CONSERVATIVE) candidates putting their ideas out to the voters while depriving the MSM their opportunity to push yet another RINO upon us.
Take the RINO’s out of the process right now. That is what we need, IMO. Draft viable conservatives if necessary, but do NOT let another RINO be forced upon us.
If Newt backs an individual mandate, but not Obamacare as a whole, then that’s bad enough. The ridiculously non-conservative concept is a central pillar of Obamacare...
Either. Also, anyone viable that could be “drafted”.
“He will simply siphon off votes from a true conservative candidate.”
From just what I have seen today, THAT seems to be his ONLY reason for running. He savaged Paul Ryan this morning.
To be honest, I want them all on the table. The Goal is set.
