Free Border Patrol Agent Jesus Diaz

Border patrol agents have one job to do and that is to protect the borders of the United States whether these imaginary lines are north or south, east or west, ground, sea or air. These officers risk their lives daily chasing illegal immigrants throughout the vast Southwest and as recent as yesterday, two brave officers of the Border Patrol lost their lives chasing illegal aliens. Nobody knows how dangerous the job is except those who wear the badge and do it with the courage required to keep us safe. ...

It is unfortunate that Agent Diaz didn't receive fair and consistent treatment for his role as an agent in what appears to be a politically staged event for both the political bodies in Washington DC and the union who represents the many who joined the membership hoping to find solace in their presence and support since cops don't trust anyone else except other cops...

Third, to quote the article "The Diaz prosecution, which stemmed from an allegation that he pulled on the handcuffs of an illegal immigrant drug smuggler at the border during an arrest, has provoked strong condemnation from critics. The Mexican consulate reportedly filed the original complaint." It also states the local Border Patrol union claimed "deception and dishonesty. He claimed, for example, that the family had not spent "a penny" of its own money to fight the case." Since this accusation came from the union, it is fair to say the union is disconnected from the case from the start...It is highly likely this case should have remained to be an administrative disciplinary case and if the union, the Border Patrol agency leadership and all those involved would have followed constitutional guidelines in this matter, this matter would have been closed....

So, betrayed by his own country at the behest of the Mexican government, and then betrayed again by his union. Nice.
