Rolling Stone Readers Pick the Best Ballads of All Time
Rolling Stone Magazine ^ | Andy Greene

Posted on 05/13/2011 9:14:29 PM PDT by ConservativeStatement

Last week we asked our readers to vote for their favorite ballad or slow jam of all time. Votes were all over the place – from tracks by Pearl Jam to Elvis Presley to Lionel Richie. In the end it was very close, and there was a tie so we had to expand our standard top 10 to a top 12. If this survey has reinforced anything, it's that our readers really, really love Led Zeppelin.

I have a ‘72 Buick Estate with every single option including the hood mounted head light dimmer. The one thing it does not have that the rest of my stuff has is the 3rd seat. I bought it from the original owner who had a string of Laundromats and needed the extra room back there for the change he had to pick up every day. He was a funny guy.

Here it is from the Station Wagon convention a couple years ago. It is on my friend Steve’s site so I don’t know if I can post it. The Roof top carrier is official GM stuff.

You should have seen Ted and Tommy’s faces. After the explosion, they held their hands over their mouths, looked at each other, and (picture two little boys tying a firecracker to a cats tail and waiting for it to pop) snickered. It was cold. :^)

Ides of March is in there. Saw them at a local hotel for a concert 3 years ago. They were great.

Go to is the Sly's Greatest Hit's. That burned out cassette has been in the glove box since I bought that car in '88 and always plays no matter what. Nothing sucks more that having the foil break and it wrapping around the drive spool of the player.

Anything from "Songs In the Attic", a desert island disc for me.
