CASA GRANDE, Ariz. -- A Regional fire truck from station No. 586 was returning from a traffic collision at about 1:30 a.m Thursday when a white Cadillac Escalade failed to make a full stop at the intersection of Kleck and Overfield roads.
"There was a vehicle approaching from east to west, temporarily paused at the stop sign and then California-rolled through it and was creeping through the intersection," firefighter John Hemmings said. "As I applied the brakes, the truck started to swerve a little bit."
The 400-gallon tanker truck slid into a ditch, rolled over and flipped end-over-end, Chief Steven Kerber said.
According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, the SUV fled the scene.
A fellow firefighter managed to free himself from the wreck, but Hemmings required extrication and treatment at a local hospital for his injuries.
Pinal County Sheriff's deputies located the Escalade near Cox and McCarthy. According to PCSO, eight illegal immigrants were detained.

Don’t tell Rambama. He says everything is fine and dandy.
Shoot them.
Then what? Released with an appearance ticket?
Who owned the Escalade? Insurance? $150,000 is a lot of damage.
Yeah, it could have involved an Escalade full of citizens, but it didn’t.
The Liberal minded equivalency doesn’t fly. These illegals need to go home — now!
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
These guys are doing very well in Casa Grande and drive pretty nice high end SUVs. Last year a Hummer H2 full of illegals was in a high speed pursuit being chased by several police and border patrol units.
They cut through the yard of an industrial building taking out several hundred feet of security fence before getting high centered and entangled in the fence. The illegals bolted but they caught several. The owner of the H2, the wife of a MM member who was in prison, came by and verbally abused and threatened the police and agents who were terrified of her.
Despite the commission of numerous felonies, the illegals were released on bail and disappeared and the Hummer was returned to it's owner.
Just another day in Janet Napolitano’s tranquil border paradise
Good seizure on the Escalade more than likely.
Ping!
A lot, then deport the carcass.
