During the 2008 presidential campaign, Romney said he opposes the specific creation and destruction of human life to advance science but he says he would support destroying human embryos from fertility clinics.

It's time to get rid of this RINO abortionist once and for all.

Too little, too late — about two years too late.
Romney just has too much Massachusetts all over him.
He will be wasting his money in the primaries.

but he says he would support destroying human embryos from fertility clinics.

Of course, what would happen next is fertility clinics increasing the number of embryos they create so they'll have more to sell for embroynic stem cell research. Romney really is clueless about how the world works.

“But if a parent decides they would want to donate one of those embryos for purposes of research, in my view, that’s acceptable,” he said. “It should not be made against the law.”

If I decided I'd had it with Bill's not getting college applications done on time and leaving his room a mess, and wanted to donate him for medical research, would that be okay with Mitt?

The reason his "pro-life bona fides" are questioned is that he so obviously just doesn't get it. He should read Ramesh Ponnuru's "The Party of Death."

In his own words: Mitt Romney:

"I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country. I have, since the time when my mom took that position when she ran in 1970 as a U.S. Senate candidate. I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years, we should sustain and support it. I sustain and support that law and the right of a woman to make that choice."

I want to address … my views with regard to protecting a woman’s right to choose. And I’ve been very clear on that. I will preserve and protect a woman’s right to choose and am devoted and dedicated to honoring my word in that regard.

It's not going to happen. Read any Romney thread (this one will probably be no different) and you will see that despite Romney's long and storied history of being a liberal he still has his supporters. I even read one FReeper's comment wherein she said she liked his hair.

God help us.

I’m no fan of Romney — and I DON’T agree with his stand on allowing ANY embryonic stem cell research. But picking a fight with him over the venue of his speech today is asinine.
