I know Democrats would and do toe the party line but I am really wondering about the Republicans.
It would destroy the Republican party, which is why it won't ever happen.
Ron Paul is a libertarian, not a conservative - and as such he will never be the GOP presidential nominee.
Paul wouldn't have approved the Bin Laden operation. This is precisely the sort of crackpot view that will keep him relegated to "crazy uncle" status for the vast majority of Republicans.
It's pretty simple. If your running for the Republican party nomination for President and your constituency is mushhead college students, pot heads, peaceniks and truthers, you have zero chance to win.
Speaking for myself personally I’m done with the “a vote against the R is a vote for Obama.”
Its either a R candidate that reflects real conservative ideals or a third party candidate that does.
I’m sick of voting for who is trying to shove a sh!t sandwich down my throat slower.
Ron Paul is and will only become more of a nut.
Why are you asking such a ridiculous hypothetical question? Republicans will never nominate this idiot. He is crazy.
IMO, yes, he'd still be a wingnut. And no, he'll never get my vote.
hehehe...go back and research some of the articles from juan mcQueegs 'run' at the POTUS gig...many FReepers formed an attack squadron over any voice that said FUJM...
RP wont get nominated, but it would be pure popcorn festival ifn he did...
“I wonder what the opinion of Ron Paul would be here, IF he should get the Republican nomination.”
About what it was when John McCain got it.
As far as “toeing the party line”, the only way to at least TRY to unseat BHO, the most dangerous and ineligible White House occupier in our lifetime, is to VOTE AGAINST HIM.
