I'm more for rule of law type myself. But that's just me.
You had better hope if someone victimizes you or your family someone who thinks like you do doesn't make it on the perp's jury. Imagine a hung jury or a not guilty verdict robbing you of justice due. You would have to accept it, of course, as you've taken the position that jury nullification is ok as long as those on the jury don't like the law.
Cheers.

You really are ignorant if you think that you’ll see anything close to justice in our legal system. So no I have no expectation that if I ever have dealings with the legal system that I’ll get anything close to justice and as a matter of fact the few times I have been in court the only thing served up was a big steaming pile of injustice. There is no rule of law in this country, there is the rule of the rich and powerful (don’t see to many of the Wall Street executive responsible for the sub-prime melt down in jail now do you?).
Also, perjury is not a thought crime since you have, theoretically, some way to test if he/she is telling the truth. Also perjury has real consequences in that you can harm someone (i.e., a false rape allegation will send a man to jail for many many years, that’s real harm) and so should be punished.
What I’m talking about is what they did, make him think he was talking to a 15 year old and then saying “see, he intended to do this so put him in jail because it would have been illegal if he had done it with a real 15 year old”. No crime was committed in my mind because 1) there was no 15 year old and 2) even if there had been she would have been a willing participant.
