Here's an idea; Try some good old fashioned cop work. You know, like waiting until the guy is on his way to work and not carrying an AR-15...

I know... It's a lot simpler to just kick his door in and shoot him. But just think of all the additional paperwork now.

At least you and your buddies can go home safe.

Isn't that all that counts?

And a whole lot more fun than simply catching him on the way to work. Got those full auto rifles - shame if if you can't grease someone with them every now and then. Has the side effect of intimidating the rest of the citizenry too. win win situation for everyone except the poor sucker who got killed and his family, but you don't want him going home to his family at night anyway. That's only police who are supposed to be able to go home to THEIR families at night.

I want to know why law enforcement officers do not just do that more often these days? Are they trained to default to using a SWAT team for everything? It seems to me that arresting somebody on the way to or from work would be a lot easier, less disruptive to the community and less dangerous for all involved then kicking in a door at 3:00 AM. Do police really just want an excuse to dress up in their tacticool gear and maybe, if they are lucky, get to shoot a family dog as a bonus?
