You are right about the timber, but if we go down that road, our government will soon claim that dirt has value. And a high enough value to fully back even more spending.

Actually dirt does have value. Topsoil usually sells for around $12-$18 a cubic yard. And that is the point, the government doesn't get to set the value. If they want to issue a trillion dollars worth of currency, they have to show a trillion dollars worth of assets at current market price first. The market sets the value of the asset, not the Fed. And that is what keeps Fedzilla under control.

Time to open more gold mines in Nevada and lift the evironmentalweeie laws in California that restrict mining. California has more gold than has ever been taken out of her. same too for Colorado and the Black Hills. This is not mentioning Alaska.
