Romney to amputate the Mass-care monkey
The Daily Caller ^ | 05/10/2011 | Neil Munro

Posted on 05/10/2011 3:59:03 PM PDT by BuckeyeTexan

Move over Daniels, step aside Trump, Mitt is back and he’s grabbing the headlines with an agenda to get the health-care monkey off his back in time to win the crucial New Hampshire and Florida primaries.

He announced today that he’ll showcase his plan “to repeal and replace Obamacare” next Thursday at the University of Michigan’s Cardiovascular Center.

Obamacare is hated by GOP primary-voters, and so is Mass-Care, the somewhat-similar Massachusetts healthcare plan that was pushed into law by then-Governor Romney. White House officials and rival GOP candidates have gleefully tagged Romney and his Mass-Care plan as one of Obamacare’s political-parents.

Prediction: FAIL.

It won't work, Romney.

Surprised Romney hasn't just admitted it was a mistake. There is no possible way for him to get away from Romneycare any other way.

For his next trick, Mitt will make toothpaste go back into its tube simply by asking it to.

It can't be done. Unless Milt has conjured up a “Randal Stevens” a la Andy Dufresne in “The Shawshank Redemption”.

But even that won't work, because there's that new thing called...VIDEO that shows Milt signing the bill into law. Milt, Teddy K, Bobby Trav. and the indicted Sal DiMasi laughing as the grandfather of ObamaCare became MA law.

Ain't happening Milt, you tool.

This is a question for everyone.

I’m not a Romney fan, so this isn’t a Romney supporting question, but I have a question. A while ago someone posted on a thread that there was a Supermajority in the MA legislature, and that Romney vetoed portions of the bill, but that they were overridden. The poster posited that he couldn;t have vetoed it anyway. Is that true? I know it doesn’t really matter since obviously he has supported it since, but I wanted to know if there is any truth to the claim, since I’m not sure where to look. I’d like to have the facts about it though. Thanks in advance.

I’m not surprised. The man has never seen a flop that he can’t flip or a flip that he can’t flop.

“to repeal and replace Obamacare”

The very fact that he says (and McCain has said it too) replace tells us he doesn't have a clue about real freedom.

If Mitt bought national TV time and got down on his knees and begged us to forgive him for Romneycare, he still wouldn’t stand a prayer of being POTUS.

Romneycare: The permanent and forever albatross.

I don't have the answers to the questions you are asking, but the bottom line is Romney supported the bill - and went around his state and the country pimping it.

Romney appears to be the most polished politician in the race (comes off like a used car salesman if you ask me), but he is no conservative. Mitt is a chameleon. He is whatever he needs to be at the moment. We could never count on him to champion ideologically conservative causes. We could never count on him to identify and nominate true constitutionally conservative judges. Romney's gut instinct is not conservatism, it is whatever it has to be at the moment to be popular.

The only thing Romney can do to get some separation from Romenycare is to admit it was a horrible mistake. He'd have to say it has not panned out the way he hoped and he is fighting to keep other states from suffering from it. While that would at least sound good, I still wouldn't trust him. Romeny just flip flops too much to be believed.

Romney was against socialized healthcare before he was for it -- and is now agin' it.

Romney was for treating homosexuals & other sexual "minorities" as especially protected workplace minorities before he was agin' it...
...before he was for it but only @ the state (vs. fed) level

Romney was for embryonic research before he was agin' it
...before he was either-or -- telling Katie Couric in Dec. '07 that if parents wanted to give up their embryos either for adoption or for research, both were "fine"!!!

Romney was for Planned Parenthood ('92) before he wasn't "pro-choice" (2001)...
...before he was begging the pro-aborts to fill out their candidate survey (2002)...
...before becoming "pro-life" again (late '04)...
...before ensuring that a Planned Parenthood person would forever remaining on the board for Mass Healthcare...

Romney had no public objections to keeping the priesthood of his Mormon church from blacks at age 30 before reversing himself...

Romney was against same-sex marriage before becoming linked to being the front wave for it on his watch...

And it goes on.

Let's just say, Mitt is being -- once again -- consistently inconsistent!

It won't work, Romney.

Of course, it won't work. And who could forget his endorsement of a homosexual pride march. He's got too much baggage, and the biggest baggage is that the liberal media love him . . . and Hitlery will unload from her 1000 stolen FBI files as soon as he would get on the ballot.

Personally, I'd like to see him just go away, or we'll have another Dole/McLame ticket.

I agree with everything you posted. I have never been a fan of Romney, he just feels off to me. That’s not to say I think with my feelings, but I trust my gut with what we do know, and that is that he has been talking out of both sides of his mouth, it seems.

Mostly, I like to know all the relevant facts, if possible, because it’s likely that a lot of people (not on this site, but it general) don’t know much about the candidates, and it’s good to know how to counter arguments with facts. Thanks for your reply, it about sums up exactly how I feel about him (Romney).
