Yes, with the mine in Ajo, AZ being the largest. Shut in the 1980’s due to a combination of things, from low quality ore to unions. Look it up on Google Earth. . .huge hole. Massive and deep.
And there’s the Copper Queen in Bisbee, about 20 miles from where I sit. Another huge hole with a storied past.
The great deportation of the early 20th Century would make an interesting FR Thread...
Carry that box with you when you go through and give it to Juan on the other end, ok amigo?
.
Pump the tunnels full of hydrogen disulfide.
Fences work just fine, have gates at regular intervals, and patrols between two rows of fences with dogs....piece of cake. Anyone caught on our side, gets a ride back over the border, dump them off on the Mexican side of the crossings. Sooner or later the Mexican officials will begin cracking down on these invaders, when they have to spend hours dispersing them within their own country.....and paying for it. It is a nice tunnel, but it will not work when American border control finds out about it, and it will be much easier to tell how they are coming across, when the border is locked down.
