"Catholic" Group: Obama Should Do More to Promote Abortion
Washington, DC -- President Barack Obama has become the "abortion president," according to the pro-life leader in Congress but one "pro-choice, Catholic" group says he hasn't done enough to promote abortion while in office.

I cannot fathom that ANY person or group that claims to be “pro choice” would advocate the PROMOTION of abortion. Especially if it is promoted above abstinence, birth control, adoption, etc.
Well at least they used quotes to indicate the fraudulent nature of this group. “Catholics for Choice” makes about as much sense as “Hebrews for Hitler”.
This is one of N reasons (where N is an increasingly large number) of why I am no longer a Catholic.
If “CINO-Catholics” want abortion, then by definition, they are NOT Catholic.
Get the h*ck out, and join some pseudo church, like Scientology. They can then hang out with others with limited mentality.
Don’t confuse most Catholics with a group calling itself Catholics for Choice.
You know the old saying, “you can’t judge a book by it’s cover”.
Pro-choice Catholic?????
Can you say OXYMORON?
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has made the statement that "[CFC] is not a Catholic organization, does not speak for the Catholic Church, and in fact promotes positions contrary to the teaching of the Church as articulated by the Holy See and the NCCB."[24] The organization Priests for Life states that CFC's theological arguments directly contradict the Catholic Church's teaching on abortion and contraception.[25]
Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of Lincoln, Nebraska issued an interdict in March 1996 forbidding Catholics within his diocese from membership in twelve organizations, operating locally, where membership is described as "...always perilous to the Catholic Faith and most often is totally incompatible...", in a letter of formal canonical warning published in the diocesan newspaper, the Southern Nebraska Register. Catholics for Choice was the last of the twelve organizations. Members of the diocese were given one month from the date of the interdict to remove themselves from participation in the named organizations or face automatic excommunication.[26]
The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights and the Catholic News Agency have described the organization as anti-Catholic.
Any “pro-choice Catholic” baseball fans in the New York area are invited to my “Yanks for Youkilis” weekly dinner gala.
Interestingly my entire Catholic family voted for Obama. No one wants to debate his stance on abortion. Makes me ill. Most people are hypocrites when it comes to B.Obama.
“... my entire Catholic family voted for Obama”.
Many, many Catholics vote Democratic. Personally, I believe they belonged to the old Democratic party and just wouldn’t reconsider changing political parties. That being said, I find the Catholics who vote for a pro-abortion president to be hypocrites. It takes more than a “it’s a child not a choice” bumper sticker on your car to change things.
Doesn't "make me ill".
Just doesn't surprise me.
I wonder if they're hypocrites, or not?
If you spout that you are anti abortion, and then vote for and support a guy that votes for abortion, even third trimester abortion, you are a hypocrite in my book whether Catholic or Protestant!
I guess this will be the broad brush thread of the day.
In some cases, that's a big "if".
What would you call a person who claims to be Presbyterian, is ambivalent regarding abortion, and voted (proudly, I assume, based on the 0bama sticker still on his car) for Zero?
I'll note that I also know protestants who voted for McCain-Palin, and one who voted for Ron Paul (go figure).
Others will paint with as broad or narrow a brush as they see fit ... and the rest of us can observe the result.
How can anyone who believes the Bible as the word of God vote for Obama? But then again, many churches do not follow the Word of God; man has created his own doctrine to suit his purpose.
I have found that people usually have no clue about the person(s) they vote for, they act as sheep and follow the media’s influence.
You do recall that 52% of Catholics voted for Bambi, don’t you?
I have heard the excuse: “These were really not Catholics, blah, blah, blah...”
I personally know practicing Catholics on the parochial staff who voted for 0 and will do so again.
By the way, I am a "Weekly Attending White Catholic". We voted almost 2 to 1 for McCain/Palin. I do applaud my Evangelical Protestants friends though for their wise voting choices! The problem for my coreligionists is those who are Catholic In Name Only--CINOs.
They should be excommunicated.
Permanently.
