Where Are the Jobs, Mr. President? The Jobless Obama Recovery Continues
Fox News ^ | May 9, 2011 | John R. Lott Jr.

Posted on 05/09/2011 1:48:33 PM PDT by JohnRLott

There has been no recovery in the job market during the Obama recovery. Despite all the cheerleading by the Obama administration and the media, job creation has been horribly sluggish. The jobs created recently are noteworthy only in comparison to the lack of jobs created during the rest of the “recovery.” In contrast to other recoveries over at least the last half century, job creation has never been more anemic.

When the new employment numbers came out on Friday, Austan Goolsbee, the head of the President Obama's Council of Economic Advisors, boasted about "the solid pace of employment growth in recent months" and that "The overall trajectory of the economy has improved dramatically over the past two years." Headlines in the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times were equally glowing, trumpeting "solid growth" and "strong growth."

During the 23 months since the Obama recovery started, an average of 23,000 jobs a month have been created. The same 23 month period into the Reagan recovery saw that an average of 285,800 jobs were added each month.

So what about the last three months? . . .

This is the first recovery in history with no job creation, no new economic activity, no new investing, etc.

Welcome to Liberal Land. :)

Since Obama has been president, the MSM has not focused on the unemployment rate. They have focused on “jobs created”, “jobs saved”, or “jobs related to the stimulus”.

Nancy Pelosi once hyperventilated during the Bush years, at a time when unemployment was approaching 6%. But now with unemployment of at least 9%, Nancy doesn’t hyperventilate anymore. The difference between then and now? Now we have a good Democrat in the White House.

Yes, but look at all the jobs we saved

But not a majority of Democrats in Congress. :)

Thank god we're in a roaring recovery so the out of work politician can find a good paying job fast. :)

Nancy Pelosi once hyperventilated during the Bush years, at a time when unemployment was approaching 6%.

For your reading pleasure:

Pelosi: Where Are the Jobs, Mr. President?
August 1, 2003

Washington, D.C. — House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ announcement that 470,000 people abandoned their job searches in July and that 3.2 million private sector jobs have been lost since President Bush took office:

“The fact is that President Bush’s misguided economic policies have failed to create jobs. Since President Bush took office, the country has lost 3.2 million jobs, the worst record since President Hoover. And today we learned that in July nearly half a million people gave up looking for a job.

“Job losses are taking a real toll on the financial security of American families. While Democrats are fighting for opportunity, jobs, and economic security for working families, Republicans continue to focus on helping those who need help the least.

“According to today’s survey, while the national unemployment rate dropped slightly, it still stands at a near record high. In addition, the unemployment rate for African Americans was still over 11 percent in July, and the unemployment rate for Hispanics was 8.2 percent in July.

“It is time for President Bush and the Republicans to get to work for all Americans, not just the elite few.”

Of course no one shoved this ridiculous rant in the demonRAT's faces everyday for the past 27.5 months. Gutless cowards, all.

The unemployment rate when this stupid beyotch opened her trap was for 2003-07 and was at 6.20 and was only the 4th month out of 30 months into his presidency that the rate was at 6 or slightly above. Of course it was no where NEAR the record high, EVER, during his entire presidency. But, we don't like facts to get in the way of the demonRATS, the RINOs and their propaganda. It was always so much better to bash President Bush.

Meanwhile, 27 months into the current regime and the lowest unemployment figure was 8.2%, its first full month in office, and we hear NOTHING!

They’re not fooling the millions of Americans whose jobs weren’t saved; no amount of spin will save The Sultan on the unemployment issue.

All you need to know is that there are 40 million Americans on food stamps.

Recovery my foot!

I finally got one. It is a short several month long IT contract. I hope it extends or I can get another.

The fuel prices are affecting everything. The stifling federal, state and local regulations are piling on. We are in real trouble if government can’t find a way to step aside.

You thought he meant a recovery for the US?

Well I can see where you’d be confused. :)

John Boehner should recite this line for line on the House floor but change Bush to Obama.

I dare for the media to say he plagiarized it.

Obama, Biden and Pelosi go into the produce business, Obama buys watermelons for a dollar each and Biden and Pelosi sell them by the truckload for seventy five cents each. Biden points out that they are losing money. Pelosi says yeah, but look at all the business we are doing. Obama calls a press conference to announce that things will be fine as soon as they can buy some bigger trucks.
