This political survey was intended to provide a snapshot of Jewish voters. It offers some interesting insights into the depth and intensity of Jewish political engagement, but by the nature of this study it does not permit one to make any defining conclusions.
Further, the findings confirm that from this particular cohort (some 2300 participants), Jews hold deeply embedded policy positions on key domestic and international issues. In this particular study one finds a distinctive Jewish conservative voice emerging on Israel related matters and an array of domestic social issues. [Bold added for emphasis by poster.] The data also suggests that among highly engaged Jews, those who are active within Jewish religious and communal life, there is a sharp divide on political attitudes and policies. This liberal-conservative split models the current political landscape of the country. The intensity of this political and social disconnect could also be seen in the additional comments offered by many participants to this survey... These messages in many ways confirmed the findings of Frank Luntz and others who have written about the growing presence of angry American voters. The focus of many of these commentaries negatively depicted the "other" voting group (namely, liberals offering viewpoints on conservatives or conservatives providing comments about liberals).

Are they having buyers remorse?
Are they having buyers remorse?
I swear, I only clicked once.
The figures are summed in a very unhelpful way, always summing party affiliation and not total support or opposition on a specific issue. You have to kind of do that in your head looking at each chart. Very weird. I know their point was to show the differences in opinion between R and D Jewish voters, but I’d also like to see the total support/opposition to each question.
Anyway, looking over these figures the so-called “Republicans” don’t seem all that conservative. They support gun-grabbing, baby-killing and MengeleCare... the last being extremely disappointing considering their historical association with such government-run “health care” systems.
No doubt that Obama will lose some US Jews in ‘012.
Instead of 77%, he will only get 65% of the Jewish vote this time.
Ping!!!
I wonder if the exit polls understate the Jewish population in the so-called “red states”, leading to an overestimate of their support for DemocRATS?
Some undoubtedly are, because the % of Jewish voters going for Obama next year will likely be no more than 60%, and that's being generous to him.
The record of southern democrats has been completely forgotten by them.. especially the blacks.. There must be something wrong with Jewish and american black cultures..
No sir Graybeard58,
I’d bet he farm the majority of American Jews vote for obummer again if he runs.
77% of the chickens are still voting for Colonel Saunders...
I think you are touching on a very significant factor there. Almost all this polling is done by left-leaning organizations. They probably extrapolate nationally from just a few big city 'rat strongholds. It's a lot cheaper that way, but scientifically sloppy. And I'm pretty sure, because of cultural differences, they would underweigh Orthodox and recent Russian Jews in their sampling, both of which have tended to vote GOP in recent presidential elections.
But remember what I said in post #1: the posted survey is of self-selected respondents and shouldn't be thought of as a poll.
Id bet he farm the majority of American Jews vote for obummer again if he runs
Paraphrasing J.C. Watts’ father: ‘A [Jewish] man voting for a Democrat is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.’
Strange times indeed when Jews keep voting for the very party that is bringing Nazism back to life. Thankfully, many are waking up from their cultural dreaming and putting down the utopian crack pipe.
When it comes to voting, Jews are an enigma.
Any study or poll that says they vote less than 90% RAT is suspect.
Then it always seems to turn out that Black Support has plummeted to a "super low 95.8%." A great Republican candidate might pull 35% of the "Jewish Vote," maybe. The many Jews and Blacks who are conservative, honorable people in their private lives, will, and have voted for the very Democrats who openly despise their personal values.
They are on automatic pilot in the voting booth. It is a mystery of the Universe.
Yup.
Obama could nuke Tel Aviv and still get 60% of the US Jewish vote.
