I think my use of word “revolution” was not correct in the sense used by the Russian. The more accurate term would be civil war amongst the population contained within its borders.

There will be no revolution in the US for a couple of reasons. The first is the military is way too powerful and second the population is too comfortable.

The military that's been bogged down by 9th century bandits for ten years? The military operating under our current ROE would be foolish to occupy a single U.S. city. If the ROE was relaxed, you'd have desertions, sabotage and outright mutinies. The U.S. military is a powerful tool, but turning on the American people will shatter it to pieces.

As far as a comfortable population, FRiend, we're only a few years out from the kind of discomfort that hasn't been seen in generations. You'll be amazed how bold, inventive and audacious your average American can be once we hit insolvency and the checks from Uncle Sugar stop flowing. There's enough good insurgency information on the internet to raise effective rebels everywhere. Hell, there are 50 intact regional governments with their own militaries and security forces.

I spent several years in Iraq, Afghanistan and other nations dealing with this exact issue. A civil war in America is a doomsday scenario, a collage of worst-case counterinsurgency factors. The government has some strong advantages out the gate, but once you get past the initial tipping point, it would be a horrific, multi-layered catastrophe beyond anyone's ability to control.

Trump's marginilization is a symptom of a greater problem. Both sides of the American political spectrum are learning and applying revolutionary political tactics. Advanced Alinsky-ite measures, not just designed to win, but to destroy. The better the right adapts to fight the left using the lefts own weapons, the more likely a fight will break out. It just takes time, and a spark.

Clearly, secession is the answer.

"The withdrawal of a State from a league has no revolutionary or insurrectionary characteristic. The government of the State remains unchanged as to all internal affairs. It is only its external or confederate relations that are altered. To term this action of a Sovereign a 'rebellion' is a gross abuse of language."

                -- Jefferson Davis
