Go Herman Cain. I voted for him in the last Senate primary in Georgia (He lost). He is a decent and fine godly man. And intelligent and articulate.

He’s a decent and smart guy but he ducked questions with his 1-2-3-4 “finger” answers about the “criteria” he would use to make decisions. And the Fair Tax thing is just politically DOA. He can’t be serious about that and imagine getting more than 25 percent of the popular vote v. Obooboo in the general.

It seems that Mr. Medved, who I thought was hip and into all that new pop culture, etc, has totally dismissed how the new social media and networking can turn anyone into a household name over night - be it Cain or anyone else.

The name recognition that Reagan had is a valid point — but in today’s world, someone can come out of no where to that same recognition in mere days thanks to Facebook, websites, Youtube, cable, etc. I guess Medved hasn’t figured that out yet.

There is also even a greater hunger for non politicians than in Reagan’s day. It’s a brave new world.

Conservatives are making a HUGE mistake in supporting this man for President. I got no problems with him running for Senate (which he lost BTW) or for Governor. He is 65 years old and a Stage 4 cancer survivor. He has ZERO public service experience and the traditional path to the WH has always been someone who has been a Governor or at least a Senator. All conservatives are going to do is split the vote and a RINO will win the nomination. Herman Cain is a good man but he is not presidential material.

I kind of like Cain but if Michael Medved is a fan of his I better rethink my position.

You just spouted out RINO talking points, ironically.

Rush Limbaugh: “Pawlenty seemed the most presidential, Santorum seemed hyper and wired up, and Herman Cain made me think I was listening to me in every answer.”

Well, yes, and no. About the Afghanistan Tar baby, who knows what can be done now, at this point, the way out of this. IAC, I don’t think it would take Cain 16 hrs, to make the call abouttaking out someone like Osama, or thinih gone can split the difference about how many troops are needed.

You might be surprised to find out that there’s a significant support for this tax system. This is getting to be more and more seriously accepted as the productive ones (the tax payers ) have to go through numerous contortions to understand our 30,000 page tax code every year.

Add to that, the army of IRS agents snooping through your earnings via more and more detailed audits and yo begin to feel how productive, hard working, tax paying Americans are now getting tired of losing more and more of their privacy and freedom ( yes, Obama has already hired thousands more and think their numbers are not enough ).

Nope, this is NOT a political loser at all.

"But the Keyes analogy makes little sense. "

Yeah, Allen Keyes possessed zero sense of humor, less than Obama, if you can imagine that. He came across a sneedlessly argumentative, I was so-o-o-o depressed after his performance, I just wanted to get out of Illinois, and the Idiots running the GOP there.

The only parallel is Cain's devotion to the Fair Tax, which is an idea that is pretty much beyond any possibility of political victory and therefore a waste of time. Sixty percent of the Republicans think it's dumb, 80% of the independents and 100% of the Democrats.

Even if he wanted the Fair Tax, the way to victory for the Fair Tax is to cast it aside for now as merely "an interesting concept that needs a lot development before becoming a serious option," and then after election, get serious about educating and convincing people.

It’s going nowhere. The Demoviks will shred it in mere minutes. “They are gonna take away your earned income credit, your mortgage deduction, end charitable giving....”

Plus, every line of the ten billion line tax code represents a special interest with a massive lobby behind it. Everyone of those lobbies from real estate to non-profits to the financial/accounting industry will unload as much of their fat wallets as it takes.

This is not only a losing issue it is not an issue anyone is much focused on at this point. You would get CLOBBERED in the general election in return for a dead-end issue almost no one cares about.

RE: medved badmouths sarah palin.

Badmouths as in what? Just because you don’t think Sarah Palin can win the presidency does not make you a liberal.

RE: “They are gonna take away your earned income credit, your mortgage deduction, end charitable giving....”

Uh huh, and you think there is no cogent response for that?

Every single proposal to solve our fiscal problems and looming disaster have been demagogued to death in the same way. How many times have you heard the phrase — “throwing grandma to the street and letting the poor kids eat dog food” being throw about ?

If no conservative candidate can respond to the above lies, then NO ONE deserves to win the presidency.
