Barack Obama: Clean energy will deliver the jobs of the future
By: MJ Lee May 7, 2011 09:22 AM EDT
For the third weekend in a row, President Barack Obama used his weekly address to the nation on Saturday to promote his energy agenda, calling clean energy jobs the jobs of the future.
Speaking from the Allison Transmission plant in Indianapolis, where he visited on Friday, Obama lauded the workers at the hybrid technology manufacturing company for doing big and impressive things.
The clean energy jobs at this plant are the jobs of the future jobs that pay well right here in America, the president said. And in the years ahead, its clean energy companies like this one that will keep our economy growing, create new jobs, and make sure America remains the most prosperous nation in the world.
On Friday, Obama renewed his call for an end to tax subsidies for oil companies, saying profitable firms in the industry dont need the extra $4 billion of tax benefits every year. If youre already paying them at the pump, we dont need to pay them through the tax code, the president said, echoing the topic of last weeks address. Especially at a time when were scouring every part of the budget to try to figure out how we bring down our deficit and our debt.

Cleaning you out of the White Hut will deliver some jobs of the future too.
This nitwit is sick beyond belief and those that support him are equally just as sick.
I just can’t wait until this nitwit loser (aka: nobama) is long gone. Green jobs????? Ask Spain.
nobama hates you, hates your family, hates Free America, hates Americans, hates the Constitution and hates the Bill of Rights. nobama is a hate crime foisted upon America. nobama is the Destroyer.
Everything nobama does is intentional.
There is nothing honest about him in any way.
More lies from the prince of lies.

Jackass.
Honestly. No sarcasm. Whenever I still catch a whiff of it in the morning, it smells like . . . prosperity.
Bet GE keeps Obama on a very short leash.
What do you think? With an electric car do you think I'll make the 6-hour trip to grandma's in Montreal, in -20C weather, snowing, up/down hills, with the wife/kids/dog, lights and windshield wiper on, radio on, ski rack on the roof, lap top plugged in and a head-wind? No chance friends, no chance. And I REFUSE to spend $50k to find out.
Furthermore, I predict a huge backlash wrt ethanol and the fact that we are BURNING FOOD in our gas tanks. IF THAT MEANS ANYTHING AT ALL TO YOU.
I wonder if the eniviro-whackos have noticed that wind turbines are screwing up the environment and scenery more than oil ever could.
Not only him, but the entire enviro-wacko left has been saying this for 40 years now. And these pixie-dust systems still make only 2% of our power, even after hundreds of billions of dollars of subsidies. The left has no scientific, engineering or even common sense. They inhabit a utopian-like fantasy world.
I spent 30 years in the energy industry and got to the point where I absolutely hated it. What other industry bows so deeply to political correctness and government pressure that it spends huge sums to convince its customers to use less of your product? What sort of place is that to spend your career?
Let me guess, people walking the streets picking up horse crap from commuters?
Far fewer people required to construct and operate clean energy power sources than oil/gas/coal.
Far, far needed to "explore" for clean energy (everyone knows where it's windy/sunny).
ZERO jobs generated to drill/mine/store/refine/transport clean energy.
He may be honest, but then our President is honestly full of shit about his green jobs.
100% wrong. Those that control the levers of government wield the ultimate power. Governments are the only institutions that can destroy, on a massive scale, human spirits and lives.
Yes, GE and other companies in Obama's pocket, despise Capitalism. However, in the end, they can be crushed by government too.
Governments can destroy it’s self if left to crush capitalism I think Greece,Spain are a good test case.
Power is in the hands of the beholder.
