It sounds as thought the one driver was assasinated, then his partner was able to draw, return fire, and take out the assasin.

Reminds me of story of guy I knew who decided to get out of the repo business on his first seizure in NJ. As he was prepared to put the hook on a repo, I guy yelled out a second story window to him: if you put your hands on that car, that is where they are going to stay. He figured he was better to suited to another line of less high profile work.

I had a friend in the business many years ago. He was chased by some guys he was trying to repo a car from. He called the police from a phone booth. By the time the cops got there, they found him with the phone cord wrapped around his neck. Luckily he was alive and decided he needed a new line of work.

Dallas is a cesspool, Boing even choose Chicago over Dallas when it moved it's headquarters. Even though I live in the next county I avoid Dallas only going there when I plan to drive straight through without stopping.

This is why you need a team of people to go with you when you repossess. Never know! And you need to be carrying!

Repo work is inherently very dangerous work. If you’re not willing to take the risks then don’t get into that line of work. I tried it for a short while about 40 years or so ago. After about 4 of the repos I did I decided to find a new line of work very quickly. Way too dangerous for the money I was making for it. I didn’t like getting shot at.
