Good for him. I know a lot of people think that the teens/youth aren’t patriotic but this does your heart good. Standing up for the U.S. is never a bad thing IMHO.
Nothing should ever fly over the American flag, EVER!
I’m trying to instill patriotism and love of country in my 4th graders. We are now beginning a unit on Economics in Social(ist) Studies, and let’s just say we’re not exactly following the curriculum to a T. On Thursday, they got a little talk from me on the benefits of Capitalism and the pitfalls of a command economy or a centrally planned economy. At the end of the day’s lesson, they understood that Capitalism supports freedom and socialism represents authority over their lives and no individual choice in their lives. My point is, I would be proud to have been that young man’s teacher. (or his parents)
Cinco de Mayo isn’t even a holiday that gets much notice in Mexico. It is celebrated in the city/region where the battle or whatever happened, but for those not living in that area it isn’t a holiday or celebration. Or so I was told by my co worker who grew up in Mexico. So Cinco de Mayo is really just a US retail holiday here. LOL
These people are the same ones who whine about the Confederate Flag.
Once the kid is out of Boot, I think he’s ready for a top slot in the Joint Chiefs of Staff or Secretary of Defense (under a new administration).
Ping!
