Since you know so much, what are the rules and regulations regarding children. In my profession, the records of children are **never** to be destroyed.

Hospital medical records may be destroyed 25 years after last contact. Since the switch to EMR, places that have ignored the old boxes in the basement have been very aggressive about it.
It is very, VERY unlikely that any records of any nature from 1961 are present at Kapiolani.
