WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Americans who raided Osama bin Laden's lair met far less resistance than the Obama administration described in the aftermath. The commandos encountered gunshots from only one man, whom they quickly killed, before sweeping the house and shooting others, who were unarmed, a senior defense official said in the latest account.
In Thursday's revised telling, the Navy SEALs mounted a precision, floor-by-floor operation to find the al-Qaida leader and his protectors - but without the prolonged and intense firefight that officials had described for several days.

I agree with you, and I’ll go one further. There shouldn’t have been a statement from POTUS at all. Just a press release, perhaps a statement from the military. Why legitimize, and thus martyrize) a terrorist.

Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. A small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. No Americans were harmed. They took care to avoid civilian casualties. After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body.
In his zeal to claim credit, he did not leave himself much wiggle room. If anyone goes to ICC, it will not be the SEALs. It will be Obama, the man who ordered the operation. If a car hits a pedestrian, you don't sue the car.
He may try to say that he didn't want Osama killed however, from his words it is clear that he is happy about it.
The death of bin Laden marks the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to defeat al Qaeda.
The SEAL team did not cross the boarder and do the operation on their own. They were doing their military duty as ordered by Obama. Although, I wouldn't put it past him to try, but his own words damn him.
I would love to be at a Code Pink meeting this month. Just to watch their heads explode. They want so badly to 'protest' something, but they cannot ever protest their own Messiah. LOL

It is very sad for the nation, but entertaining in a way to see what the next version will be.
These people have screwed up royally because they couldn't keep their mouths shut. They have broken several international laws and a few civilian ones. What they thought was gold is turning to pyrite. While each was clamoring for the microphone a couple of days ago, they are all quickly clamoring to duck and run away now.

Maybe it is just me, but when he entered that hallway toward to podium, he was strutting like John Travolta in Pulp Fiction. I mean, I saw a true ‘gangsta’ demeanor in the way he was swaggering.
Had it been a normal press conference in a briefing room, maybe he could tweek a little.
But that bombastic pompous display he made about killing a guy, and a Muslim at that, will live on forever.
