An Egyptian doctor was sentenced to 500 lashes and five years in prison in Saudi Arabia for being alone with a woman in a private apartment, dpa reported Tuesday according Saudi media.
The Urologist was sentenced on Monday for the incident, which took place last year in the conservative country, according to Saudi newspaper Sabq.
The doctor, whose name has been withheld from the public, was initially arrested by police tasked with "the protection of virtue and the prevention of vice."
This month, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz vowed to boost the special police unit with an additional 200 million riyals (around 53 million dollars) to carry out their tasks.

I would imagine that Saudi prisons aren’t exactly the equivalent of a trip to Paris.
But then, the Saudi royals often take off for Paris or London or Monaco, and I hear that Allah does not exist in any of those places. :)

Huh? He's a male she's not married to there for the express purpose of looking at her vagina, and they're only upset cause he did it at her HOUSE? I'd think just being a male wee-wee doctor treating female patients would merit summary execution according to their rules.

Yes. If they sentence you to get your fingers chopped off and the chopper gets them all but misses one, that counts as a misdemeanor on your part. The penalty is removal of a finger.
People might worry about that here too, except that you'd have to worry about the female MD's equally, so what are ya gonna do? I guess they could have a whole fleet of eunuch gynos.

I greatly prefer woman OB/GYNS myself, although there is one man I am very comfortable with.
As for worrying equally about female MDs, do you mean lesbians? I’ve been to a lesbian breast specialist; she was a fantastic doctor - no sexual vibes whatsoever.
Lesbians in general are far less sexually aggressive or inappropriate than heterosexual men in general. This is experience speaking, and please note the “in general.”
LOVE that free will, and the predetermined right to marry your cousin. It helps explain a portion of their mental issues. If I had to marry my cousin, I too would be out blowing things up!
