“Jay Carney says Osama’s wife was shot in the leg on the first floor.”

This is just bizarre coming form the White House. Where are the DOD briefings? It seems Barry has told the Pentagon to stand down so the focus is on him and the WH.

as Navy SEALs swept through the massive compound, they handcuffed those they encountered with plastic zip ties and pressed on in pursuit of their target, code-named Geronimo. Then, once bin Laden had been shot, they doubled back to move the prisoners away from the compound before blowing up the downed helicopter.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who chairs the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and revealed some of the new details about the raid, said she’d known about the suspected bin Laden compound since last December — offering rare proof that Washington can indeed keep a blockbuster secret.

As for publicly releasing photos and video, Brennan said in a series of appearances on morning television: “This needs to be done thoughtfully,” with careful consideration given to what kind of reaction the images might provoke.

At issue were photos of bin Laden’s corpse and video of his swift burial at sea. Officials were reluctant to inflame Islamic sentiment by showing graphic images of the body.

White House holds off on releasing Osama bin Laden death photos

The White House Tuesday continued to refuse to make public gruesome photos affirming Osama bin Laden’s death, despite calls some corners among politicians, the families of 9/11 victims, and some skeptics for it to do so.

“There are sensitivies here in terms of the appropriateness of releasing photographs,” said White House spokesman Jay Carney, who called the photos of Bin Laden’s corpse “inflammatory.”

in the case of bin Laden, administration officials fear the photos could provoke some in the Muslim world. The photos are also reportedly grim, as Bin Laden was shot above the left eye and the chest, U.S. officials said, near the end of the 40-minute operation in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

You have to understand, OBL was a friend of Obama’s. He’s a tad squimish about releasing his “death photo”. After all he was “unarmed” and hiding behind a woman. See why none of us should have guns? LOL!!!

Obama would do the same. Hide behind a woman but he would be armed to the teeth. Never forget, “youbring knieves and I’ll bring guns”.

Thank GOD that through those BRAVE MEN this freak is in hell. This was the VERY GROUP that Obama wanted to DISOLVE. Gee, I wonder why.

Osama Bin Laden Sea Burial Video May Be Released

Video of Osama bin Laden’s dead body being dropped into the North Arabian Sea from the USS Carl Vinson early this morning could be made public, according to officials.

The 40-minute ceremony, and perhaps photos of his corpse, will be released “cautiously,” according to The Associated Press, citing two Pentagon officials.

The world’s most notorious terrorist did not receive a customary Islamic burial as he was slipped into the North Arabian Sea today when no others countries would accept his body, according to experts in Muslim funeral rites.

“Dumping the body into the sea is not part of any Islamic ritual,” said Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy and a physician of internal medicine. “Koranic scripture says God created him and he must return to the earth.”

The corpse was taken to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, officials told ABC News. The ceremony, done according to Islamic law, began about 1:10 a.m. today EST and lasted about 45 minutes, according to officials.

Traditional washing of the body was followed by wrapping in white sheets. A military officer read religious remarks that were translated by a native Arabic speaker, then bin Laden was eased into the sea.

Officials said no other alternatives were available.

“We are ensuring that it is handled in accordance with Islamic practice and tradition,” an administration official said. “This is something that we take very seriously. And so therefore this is being handled in an appropriate manner.”

It is rare, but when a body must be buried at sea, there are rules, according to Al Islam online.

The body should be lowered into the water, “in a vessel of clay or a weight tied to its feet,” and as far as possible, it should “not be lowered at a point where it is eaten up immediately by sea predators.”

Tradition dictates that the body is washed by Muslim men and a funeral prayer is said, then it is buried as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours of death. The body is wrapped in a shroud of white cloth and the face is moved toward Mecca. The remains are always buried in the earth.

I expected this to happen. I did not expect the details reported about the raid were going to be correct. It is unreasonable to expect that.

However, if I were a Democrat politican/media mouth and we had a Republican president, this would be all I would need to discredit the truth and the mission of the whole operation. That Osama might not have been armed when killed; well, that would have be an international crime of Darth Cheney’s “death squad” and I would have to call on my toltalarian wannabe pals at the UN to arrest the president.

These people make me sick.

If we had a Republican president, Fienstein and the media would be screeching that the president waited until the election to take Osama out. Therefore the whole operation means nothing.

This guy is too picky. I understand they went to the trouble to stuff Osama’s piehole with bacon out of the deepest respect for Islamic jihad./s/

Can't verify it, but Rush said Obama was pulled off the golf course in the middle of his game to be present. It kind of explains his "Can we get this over with so I can get back to my game" look.

I'm watching Neil Cavuto's show. He just had Mansoor Ijaz on the phone. Mansoor said the land where bin Laden's compound was, in fact most of the land in that area is owned by the Pakistani military. It's where the majority of retired Pakistani military officers live.
