“I have no doubt that Osama is history.”
That’s the point. None of us should have doubts about that fact, and raising doubts is not a reasonable thing.
Leave aside the many side-issues that have or may crop up. Leave aside the stupidity of the Obama admin not releasing photos to prove to the Araba world, full of conspiracy theories and doubters. Actually treating the ‘he might not be dead’ as a reasonable possibility is discreditable conspiracy-mongering.
“birther mentality is a pejorative”
ok, maybe we should say “Dont get all Alex Jones on me” - we are talking about a conspiracy-theory-minded attitude.
And at this point, that’s what birthers have become. The reasonable doubts have been removed on that issue and only unreasoning conspiracy-mongering is left.
” ... which seems to most of the media and the left to include anyone who has ANY question about Obamas eligibility. Use of the phrase by someone who holds himself out to be a conservative,”
Being a birther and being a conservative have nothing to do with one another. There are non-conservative birthers and non-birther conservatives. Pretending their the same is wrong.
And PS, Obama is eligible. Thats a dead end.
“Wow! I was wondering who had the last word on the definition of natural born Citizen. Now I know. Thanks!”
Yes, its definitive, its a dead end and the dead horse should stop being flogged. That’s the point. We should stop treating irrational conspiracy theories with the respect they dont deserve.
“And at this point, thats what birthers have become.”
It’s not what they’ve become, it’s how they’ve been painted.
“We should stop treating irrational conspiracy theories with the respect they dont deserve.”
Obama’s eligibility is not an “irrational conspiracy” theory, it is a a legal question that needs to be resolved. Is the son (or daughter) of a non-US citizen a natural born citizen? Are we going to follow the constitution or not?
