There were a rash of editorials lamenting the “speech” and pointing out his classless self-praise....I think the White House got the message becuase it is reported that he invited Bush to the ground zero show....Bush, having class, declined.
Not wanting to be lectured to and mocked while "the one" controls the microphone and media access is smart. Not wanting to help glorify the poseur who has spent almost four years tearing down and vilifying everything that W put in motion is a very wise decision.

Bush is a sharp guy, and he has seen what Obama’s special invitations to conservatives amount to: a chance for this classless, childish narcissist to insult his guest up close and personal. I hope more conservatives catch on, and stop giving this spoiled case of classic arrested development—i.e.: Obama—his lowlife jollies.
