Funny how this guy was supposed to be such a bad guy yet all many seemed to care about was the political aspect of it, because it didn't occur on Bush's watch or while a Republican was in office.
Can I be honest?
The political hypocrisy is knee deep.
If this would have occurred on Bush's watch, the celebration and talking up Bush would have went on for weeks or months....years..
And deservedly so.
See, that's the whole point. President Bush didn't get elected by trashing the occasional need for warfare. He acknowledged it. He didn't get elected by promising to close Gitmo. He explained the need for it. He didn't get elected by saying he would prosecute our military personnel for war crimes. He heaped praise on them.
Ubama is a fraud and a cheat and a liar and the fact that he made one good decision is not enough reason to shower him with accolades. He's Commander-in-Chief for petes sake. He's SUPPOSED to make decisons like this.
The fact that everyone claps and cheers for him like a little baby who just went potty by himself for the first time only serves to underscore how anemic his efforts to battle terrorism have been up to this point.
So, yeah, we're happy bin Laden is dead but we're not going to pat Obama's head and rub his tummy just because he didn't poop on the carpet for once.
And besides, I'm hearing a lot of criticism for the lack of appreciation expressed for our men and women in uniform but the criticizers don't seem to be doing a whole lot of that themselves.
So, here. Allow me.
Ooh-rah! Marines! Hoo-ah Soldiers! You rock Sailors! Kick some tail, Airmen! Thank you for all you do, all you've done and all you're going to do to keep this country safe. Even for the crybabies.
IOW, if everything was all different; then - everything would be all different.
