If it is only a 10 point bounce, then this means next to nothing politically. If it is a 25-30 point bounce, it might be more longer lasting.

The only customers that brought this up yesterday were those that said they were happy he was dead but I had to breach the subject. It is not that they do not celebrate that bastards death... we all do... it is just not the center of people's concern. Not when gas is 5 bucks a gallon and food inflation is soaring. No one gives barry any credit down here... we understand that the only thing that he did was to steal an election and usurp power. bin laden's death and the training and tools that wrought death upon him... lie deep within the Bush administration. obama is just using Bush's tool box and voting present.

“Unemployment is 18%”

That is right and we need to make as many people as possible aware of that reality.

The Regime LIES every month with that bogus figure they use (U-3? U-6?); few newspeople explain that the % of unemployment went down simply because their benefits have run out and the phony Labor Dept. system then counts them as not part of the labor force and thus NOT unemployed.

Typical of the 0-Regime’s BS which is why some of us question every press release that comes out of the White House.

I didn’t take a long look at it but I’m pretty sure that on the Dow, there was just an intra-day bounce. Went up then back down before the close.

No, it won’t and external actions like that are actually typical of what Third World despots like to do to distract their restive citizens from the misery of their lives.

No wonder people are questioning the story though. If they used two V-22 Ospreys, it would means two of them flew half-empty to target. Secondly the compound itself has a landing area of 100 square ft. One Osprey is 57ft long and has a wingspan of 45 feet. They did not land or try to land both in the compound. That was their only option since the walls were 15ft high and heavily barbwired.

The fact that they leave everyone guessing, have a dignified religious ceremony and dump the body in 6 hours, have DNA results back in 10, causes everyone to question the operation. Tell the truth, give specifics (not the exact operation, but enough to make sense), and let’s move on.

Agree 100% with your assessment.
One only has to look what happened with President George H Bush in the wake of his huge, but temporary surge, in popularity after the Gulf War.

Why would Obama pull the trigger on this now? Why not in 2012 right before the election, guaranteeing him the win? Suppose he is getting slammed hard from his party to resign. Obama will go down hard in 2012, and bring the Dem party with him, so the Party tries talk him out of running again. To combat this, Obama starts campaigning to show he is not quitting. He is still getting pressured, Hillary and Trump are part of this, so Obama releases the BC. They won’t give up, Obama needs a big win now: Osama bites the dust.

He's replaying Clinton's comeback. This is supposed to be Obama's Oklahoma bombing moment when he goes from looking weak to looking strong. The next thing Barry will do is move right.

we have 18 MONTHS until the election! We are all being way too premature.

18 months can be several lifetimes in politics.

Flying half-empty choppers into an assault of this type (where the team and target(s) are expected to be extracted) is normal as it allows for the redundancy necessary to complete the mission if one or more of the choppers goes down.

Should add that the Army's Spec-Ops modified MH-47 Chinooks could do all this as well with just two helos. HOWEVER, based on the pictures now out of the crashed helo I think ... well, actually, ... heck I have NO idea what that thing is. Looks like some heavily faired (like the fairing over the tail rotor - which is the only easily recognizable piece of the wreckage) something or other. Possibly a stealth mod to a Blackhawk ... or even a Sikorsky S-92? No wonder they destroyed the thing.

The DNA is iffy.

You can get a result of DNA markers in a few hours for a preliminary id but you will not have a full profile. From the markers, they should at least know it was a son of OBL's father killed.

It happens all his siblings are half-siblings. We may have requested OBL's mother's DNA months ago. If we have that and we have a profile of his father built from multiple half-siblings, we can pretty much know it's him. Details on the testing and methods used are few.

Drawing from their own account, White House's "99%" number appears made up. There was no time to get that kind of accuracy. A full DNA profile an take a week or more. I can't imagine them not doing a full profile. For now I think they've oversold the DNA certainty.

I've seen it reported the downed chopper was a Black Hawk. It can carry 14. There had to be more than two involved if there were 25 men plus prisoners with one lost chopper.

I believe we got our guy. However, in its eagerness to take credit the White House has badly fumbled the release of information. We've heard he resisted, we've heard he was unarmed, we've heard he went down in a firefight. We heard his wife was used as a human shield and we've seen that retracted.

Bush's administration would've been savaged by the press for missteps, unilateralism, not taking him alive, violating Pakistan airspace, the quick burial at sea, flubbing the narrative, using Geronimo as the codename for OBL...all of it.

Antiwar agitators would be demonstrating 'round the clock at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
