Officially, it was a kill-or-capture mission, since the U.S. doesn't kill unarmed people trying to surrender. But it was clear from the beginning that whoever was behind those walls had no intention of surrendering, two U.S. officials said.

It's funny, the kind of crap you can get away with saying when you're Administration is liberal.

"We wouldn't kill anyone who tried to surrender, but we knew before we got there that nobody was going to try to surrender before we shot them."

I'm glad they killed him, but the double-standard is comical.

I totally agree. However, the thing that has made this so bittersweet for me is that those who are taking credit are the same folks who ranted and raved about rendition, water boarding...saying that it doesn’t work.

Well...gosh danged viola! It worked!

Now...are those who suffered such abuse from those on the other side of the aisle being acknowledged for this victory? NO!

Those who opposed warrantless wiretaps, rendition, water boarding, who called our troops “terrorists”, wanted to close Guantanamo, to read terroristists their rights, etc. are taking credit for this victory.

Like Obama...

Still keeping yer eye out for him, eh? ;o)
