I am in total agreement with you. Most of these students wouldn’t be caught dead serving in the military because it’s totally beneath them. At minimum, over half of them are crazy lefty Obamabots who bitched and moaned about interrogation techniques and Gitmo, and the war in general — for YEARS. If it were up to them, we wouldn’t be celebrating SQUAT.
As military folks, We’ve known too many who were killed ..it just doesn’t bring them back. It just doesn’t erase all the hassle and suffering. It’s just an odd bittersweet/sour feeling. I can’t describe it. But I definitely couldn’t stand watching “the students” crowd surfing and high fiving ...most of them are whooping it up because it was done under Obama’s watch and are going to endlessly promote him because of it.
You stated that very well. If that had happened while Bush was still in office, you know that many of these students would have been saying that it was an “unlawful act”. My son has joined the marine reserves. He and his friends are openly happy about the death of OBL, but they will be putting their lives on the line.
That is what I feel bitter/sweet. I do feel satisfied that 3,000 families can have some closure and a feeling of justice for their loved ones. However, that scene last night made me ill. Already had the Obama/Biden signs up.
Am I happy he is dead? Yes, but I am done hearing about it, we have thousands of troops in Afghanistan and Iraq who STILL had to do patrols and dodge IED’s and Snipers and be watchful of ambushes. For them the fight is still on and my mind and prayers are with them.
I do LOVE the fact that a bullet courtesy of the SEALS took him out instead of a bomb!
