If the Repubs can get an electable candidate then they are likely going to have a super majority in place in 2012. Time to treat the Dems to a taste of their own medicine with budget reconciliation and nuke options on everything.

This is just the NYT trying to toughen him up for the fight. It is an indication that they are ready for brutality towards any GOPer or even DEM who will dare to challenge the anointed.

If the Dems who are up for reelection are smart, they will drop him like a hot potato causing his approval ratings to plummet even further.
