Well agree to disagree.
You want to infringe on my rights based on nothing more than your feelings. You can't even articulate one persuasive reason why they should be restricted.
I, on the other hand, don't wish to require you to own one.
That makes you the tyrant in this exchange. You don't have the right to be free from irrational fears, and you sure as have don't have any right to limit mine to make it so.
I've heard the "common sense gun control" argument since I was a young man, 25 years ago, when the "assault weapon ban" was first floated. The arguments failed then, and they fail now, even more so since an AW Ban was law of the land for 10 years and made no measurable difference in crime rates.
And that's according the DOJ.
You agree with your neighbor, DiFi, the original AW Banner. Fellow travelers need to stick together.
Trailerpark, our rights are infringed on every day, sorry to bring that to your attention.
You are not allowed to have a tank....are you screaming about your rights? You are not allowed to snort cocaine all day long...are you screaming about your rights?
We have laws in this country that are brought into being by the officials we elect via a Republic form of Democracy. I’m sorry if you feel your rights are crushed here, but for the common good laws sometimes do that. Most people that aren’t on the fringes realize this. We can agree to disagree on the merits.
I have given a reason...they are unnecessary to have these types of weapons in the hands of general public. What is the purpose of having a fully automatic assault weapon? Are the Canadians invading and you may need it to ward off attacks? There is ZERO good reason to have them. NONE. Please provide one if there is.
I’m all for keeping most weapons free and legal to buy and own. Not these as I have yet to see a single reason why people should have them other than “IT’S MY RIGHT”. Well, it’s not if laws are passed that are constitutional and say you don’t have that right.
