No sympathy for an arrogant and terminally dumb woman who thought her CBS pass was an important credential.

Okay, I was just about to rip you a new one, until I read this:

“Before the assault, Ms. Logan said, she did not know about the levels of harassment and abuse that women in Egypt and other countries regularly experienced. “I would have paid more attention to it if I had had any sense of it,” she said”

I'm sorry but this really p*sses me off. How can a foreign reporter not know the abuse that those women endure?

I think it was more like she didn't care until it happened to her.

Maybe she only hangs out in Western hotels and truly wasn’t around the bad elements.

People need to cut her slack over this experience. She went through a horrific thing.

From grade school through J-school, she's been propagandized to believe that ABCNNBCBS are the source of all news; since coverage of anything embarrassing to Islam is severely limited from those sources, she never heard about it.

Never underestimate the ignorance of liberals - yes, even media types.

For the record though, many comments in this thread are absolutely disgusting.

The hatred on display is almost islamic in character...

Ya, it could have, and has happened happened in Central Park or in any city in the US too.

Over the years millions of American women traveled to Egypt as tourists and some even on business. I know a woman who went in and out of Egypt regularly on business, and never had a problem or a complaint.

This woman from CBS walked into a situation of civil unrest where any pretense of authority had broken down and the animals in that situation took advantage. She was with a crew and had a security detail. That didn't make a difference when there was a mob operating with a mob mentality.

That is what anarchy looks like

I feel bad for her... and for Egypt. It was once a place that at lest had a hope of joining the 21st century, but I fear that the animal mob, fired up by their Friday "prayers" in the Mosques are intent on taking it back to the barbarism of the 7th century.
