I loved the very deeply Christian message on traditional marriage and it’s definition. My first thought was the left and Muslems will not be pleased.
It also should be remembered that people often bow to the traditions and wishes of their elders in these affairs. That being said, I never presume to know someone elses’ heart.
Also I sense the message is that there is HOPE that the Christian faith in the west is begining to resurge once again. Love the message also.
I have been trying to explain it rintense - how many of us Euro conservatives part ways with you Americans when it comes to the position of the monarchy.
For us they do symbolize and preserve the best bits of our tradition.
Besides it is totally democratic now. The moment the British people doesn’t want the monarchs anymore, they will be gone. But, the vast majority supports it. The peons (lower classes) more than most. I guess they are just as brainwashed as poor southerners voting republican...
When Norway was occupied by the nazi’s, it was King Haakon who was the major rallying point.
For King and country.
Though I do get worried when people like Charles get involved with his silly politics. The Royals should stay above it, except for focusing on the shared tradition. The Queen has done this exceptionally well. Pity about her son.
Though some has said William has made several messages today. Him wearing the Irish Guard Uniform in the wedding, honouring the regiment that just came back from Afghanistan. Requesting the battle of Britain fly over. etc.
The American head of state is incredibly divisive usually. Look at Obama, Clinton, Bush, Reagan....
It’s good to have a head of state raised above politics. imho - That can unite everyone.
And, you are right. The left in Europe hate the monarchies for just events such as today. Honouring Christ and our old traditions stands in the way of their socialist utopia.
Cheers to you :)
