Donald Trump has emerged in recent years as the nation's foremost China basher, going after the Asian superpower for undervaluing its currency and for taking American manufacturing and jobs. So it's at least ironic -- and at most an example of gross hypocrisy -- that Trump's own line of men's wear, the Donald J. Trump Signature Collection, is manufactured in China.
I discovered this after walking from Salon's offices to the large Macy's in midtown Manhattan, where an entire section is devoted to the Donald J. Trump Signature Collection of suits and ties. This particular corner of the store is decorated with an oversize portrait of Trump; the line promises to provide "the pinnacle of style and sophistication" and "the necessities to be boardroom ready all of the time."
Here is the tag on one of the Trump shirts:
Yes, that says "MADE IN CHINA." (That pink dress shirt retails, by the way, for $69.50.) Other pieces were made in Mexico and in Bangladesh.
Now, Trump has long complained about Chinese currency "manipulation" and has called for a large tariff on imports of products from China in order to bolster U.S. manufacturing. But he has also gone further, urging Americans to buy fewer products from China, claiming that Chinese goods are shoddy and maintaining that, in his own business dealings, he favors American manufacturing over Chinese manufacturing.
All of which makes it a little strange that Trump's own brand of clothing is made in China.

So what??
Hannity asked Allen West to elaborate on his meeting with Trump after a town hall meeting in Boca Raton. Hannity just came out and asked him if Trump asked him to run as his VP. I don’t think he gave a clear answer, but Hannity asked if he would run for a higher office later. Col. West said he wanted to prove to his constituents that he is an effective legislator, but he also said that if his constituents let him out of his pledge he would run. Did I hear this right??????
Should have mentioned this was on Hannity tonight
It is almost impossible to find any clothing anywhere that is made in this country any longer.
This sounds hypocritical of Trump, but until some sort of tariff system is set up, and unless the international “free trade” organizations are forced to level the playing field and stop the endless bias against the U.S., and unless other countries stop setting up subtle bars against American imports, that’s not going to change.
I well remember when the last big clothing factories closed down, and that is not going to reverse as long as the politicians favor cheap imports over American jobs.
I don't think the usual alinsky tactics will work this time, though, The Donald don't care none.
Does anyone understand that it is MOST UNLIKELY that Mister Obama would release his alleged "birth cert" just after Trump demanded it; without some prior arrangement?AND...
That Mister Trump has vacuumed the credit for making Obama do this?
It's SO EASY
Think..."tag team" here.
Think...Ross Perot II here
So does Donald Trump control and own the clothing line or is it just some company using his name and brand? Kinda like Martha Stewart and K-Mart
Oops!
RE: So what??
Does the word — HYPOCRISY ring a bell?
China: “We don’t care what you say about us as long as you make it here!”
Of course maybe Trump really didn’t nose into that part of his empire. He better yank this stuff from China if he means what he says.
Trump was about the only person with resources enough to raise a “birther” stink above the radar. I still am not 100% sure about that document because some say software reveals the background to have suffered forged alterations. It isn’t going to just die overnight and could still get Buckheaded.
Anyhow, this is far from the only thing in Trump’s list of demands for what he would see in a saner Federal government. Unless he makes Obama cave in on all those other issues too, he couldn’t be a plausible Perot.
Don’t you know? Donald Trump can do no wrong.
