U.S. Rep. Allen West is being heavily criticized by the usual suspects for an astute observation he made the other day when speaking before a group called Women Impacting Nation.

BizPacReview.com featured that video on our home page and called it Allen West: This is Sparta!

West used the ancient Greek city-state of Sparta as a metaphor

Sparta was militarized through and through and life there was pretty miserable under most conditions. It was a communist state not one to emulate. Theft and murder were praised. At least after the reforms of Lycurgus. During Homeric times it was known for culture and beautiful women.

Not to mention the institutional buggery of little boys.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Well, it will take men and their women to take back the country from the leftists. The American leftist is weak and embraces two tenets:

1) Make love, not war

2) Don’t hog that joint, my friend.

The stupid obuma, a relic stewed in early 20th century Marxist thought, calculated he could agitate a Leninist revolution in America. Ha! It’s the first time in Marxist history that the commies have tried to raise an “army” made up of people who hate work and guns and want to get stoned.

The dope didn’t realize he’d need to pry the two liter bottles of coke and jumbo bags of chips from his “Army’s” greasey hands before sending them out to die on a hilltop for the glory of obuma. Most would have no such interest.

The dope obuma is an anachronism. He’ll never understand his miscalculation and total defeat.

Just as Athens became the model for all future Western Democracies, so Sparta was template from which all totalitarian and communist regimes have been built

Forced Conscription at age ten for state-sponsored indoctrination.
Forced homosexual relationships for all the fighting men
Strict wealth re-distribution so that all Spartan had exactly equal wealth regardless of effort or merit
Enslavement of the productive classes
Secret police who moved among the Helots killing out of hand anyone
who was too clever, to handsome, too popular....

Sparta was a Marxist state and earned it spot on the dustheap of history

Too bad he didn’t make reference to the Amazons - he’d be getting a trophy and/or medal, rather than the noisy barking of critics.

2) Don’t hog that joint, my friend.

Not to nitpick but wasn't that " Don't bogart that joint, my friend...pass it on over to me....

Country Joe and the Fish.

“Not to nitpick but wasn’t that “ Don’t bogart that joint, my friend...pass it on over to me....”

Of course, you’re right.

Now if you can remember the first stanza of “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida,” I’ll buy you a jelly doughnut.

Bonus points: Where is Iron Butterfly today?

Payoff: Two jelly doughnuts.

I love obscure music.

Where are Dion and the Belmonts buried, why and where’s Sue?

What were Roy Orbison’s last words that rhymed with “Pretty Women?”

If Johnny Cash didn’t own a guitar but a tuba instead and recorded “Hey, Porter,” would that tune ever enter your head and never leave?

Pol Pot would have been right at home. Sparta existed to do one thing - Thermopylae after that it was a nightmare.
