Love the underlying ideas, the book was simply badly written. desperate need of an editor to get the work down to 250-400 but the author’s ego was too big.
Still, to have it be a vital touchstone for debate 50 years on is pretty good for a ‘bestselling’ novel.
No kidding. Anyone who can get more than half-way through Galt’s speech alone without realizing that this woman had an ago the size of Texas, shouldn’t be reading it in the first place.
This is sure to get me in trouble, but over the years I noticed that Rand and Objectivism in general seems to be extremely attractive to social misfits. I’ve yet to see a well adjusted individual identity with Rand.
