When I was in training at Civil Affairs school in preparation for a deployment to Iraq, we were told when we had meetings with the locals, to be respectful and courteous “but be ready to kill everyone in the room” Sad loss of life, prayers to all of their loved ones.
Here’s my guess how this unspeakable massacre was done. The perpetrator put his gun to one of the American’s head and threatened to shoot unless everyone disarmed themselves NOW.
Appreciate all the armchair “they’ll never take me alive” cowboys on this thread. Question: what would YOU do, faced with seeing your buddy shot point blank?
I suspect the terrible sight of seeing their comrade in mortal danger caused them to hesitate until it was too late.
Point #1 on the Rules of Engagement should be that all U.S. service personnal carry weapons locked and loaded at all time - even on “secure” bases, and never NEVER trust the so-called “friendlies.”

Prayers for the Americans.
I’m baffled, however, about their disarming.
My apologies for the multiple posts!
>> cooperate and youll be alright!.....
>> or.....cooperate and youll be dead.
Krav Maga
Amen to that. Long past time to hurriedly pack everything that can be used against our troops and allies and destroy the rest.
If someone with a drawn handgun approached seven or eight armed men here in Louisiana and demanded they disarm the person making those demands would most likely end up dead and those who made him that way would not be prosecuted due to the way ‘self defense’ is interpreted in this state. If one of the people killed today had drawn and shot and killed this Afghan the shooter would probably be in deep trouble and at the very least his career would be ruined and he probably would be subjected to some sort of administrative punishment. Now it would be better to be subjected to such and be alive rather than be administratively virtuous and dead but the reality is that constant hectoring, harping , and thinly veiled threats of dire consequences for being ‘trigger happy’ or ‘acting like a cowboy’ do have a cumulative demoralizing effect on people who are in military bureaucratic regimes.
People don't want their careers destroyed or worse face the nightmare of running the judicial gauntlet. People do understand the underlying but unstated message that to far to many of those above them their lives and well being are less important than the protection of the positions and perquisites of the numerous faceless gray entities that concoct these sorts of butt protection programs.
and never hand over your gun , even at gunpoint
Go down firing if necessary .
Never disarm
Absolutely true. ESPECIALLY never disarm in the presence of a knuckledragging, hairy-tailed, snorting muslim.
"When there are 9 of you and just 1 muslim nut job - just rush him. Dont let him disarm you one at a time..."So easy to judge from the safety of your keyboard.
