That has been one of the primary issues with the short form all along... there was not much in the way of verifiable information available. Obama will not assist in this, but you never can tell what minor detail may trip them up. There were enough discrepancies in the Certifications that I thought some detail would get enough traction to force the release of further information. Surprisingly it was Donald Trump who was able to hammer home the message and force this further disclosure despite his seeming lack of knowledge on the finer points of the BC / Eligability issues.
I read Rush’s take on this and he thinks the timing was all about internal poll numbers. I think it is more likely that the issue was starting to make the big donors nervous. At a gut level I don’t believe that Obama is the one calling the shots on this. To me he doesn’t strike me as a person of much more than average intelligence. He seems to be an actor playing a part. Thus his ongoing dependance on the teleprompter. He doesn’t have true leadership presence.
By contrast Donald Trump who the media is doing their best to portray as a buffoon comes across as genuine and strong. His ability to frame all of this all in a way that is positive for him is gratifying. My guess is that despite the media efforts and Trump’s own rough style that his actual IQ is a good 50 points above Obama. Mr. Trump has been running circles around Obama. These have been entertaining days that is for sure.
