The explanation from the left has been that in Kenya ‘African’ is a common race designation and how Sr. would have referred to himself.
Problem: It’s a government form. Check boxes typically. You can’t make up your own race designations. The race statistics are kept and reported.

There is a link there to the new Hawaii Department of Health race categories, which identifies Obama’s father as “African”. That means Obama must have updated his birth information after 2003, when the new categories started being used.
The hidden file probably contains a Late Certificate of Birth, which was probably completed within the last six years.
I always suspected that what Obama is trying to hide is that his father’s race is entered as something other than negro. His father was or was supposed to be, if I’ve heard correctly, 3/4 Arab, and his race could have been entered as caucasian.

Obama’s father could not be African-American because he was not American.
