She is losing ground to Trump, but I expect he’s enjoying a boomlet that will fizzle. He’s also staking out the bombthrowers end of the GOP spectrum, which could be good for her. It gives her a chance to come in sounding measured and presidential. Also, it’s a chance for her to step back and recover from her Kate Gosselin/Dancing With The Stars overexposure.

I suspect you’re right. Libya may not be the right issue and this may not be the right tone for her right now, especially since she had early on goaded Obama for not establishing a no-fly zone, IIRC.

She was smart in not going after Trump and for giving her blessing to his researching Obama’s background. That’s good enough for her re: Trump.

What might she be doing instead? How about a full, detailed policy hit on Obama and gas prices? His fantasy budget proposals? She should be going hard after his economic policies, IMO.

While I love how hard Trump is coming out on some topics, his one trick pony speech in regards to China is already getting old. Also, yesterday on Hannity, he criticized Paul Ryan for submitting his budget plan. Trump's logic is that the House should make no attempt to lead right now. They should sit back and fire at Obama's attempts to lead. IMO, this is opposite of what the House should do. The House should get out in front, get their message out LOUD AND OFTEN and FORCE Obama to comment or defend his positions.

Sitting back and playing Prevent Defense is NEVER a good strategy. You keep the ball moving, screwing up their defense, not allowing them to get set to fire back. Once they are set to fire back against Topic A, you go full force with Topic B.
