To: Sir Francis Dashwood

Can’t remember what it was,,, but i read one of Churchills collected articles from Harpers and other periodicals. And his History of America in the civil war era was amazing. His stories describing American culture in the 1920s to the people back home was one of the funniest things ive ever read. Loved his continual sarcastic references to prohibition too. His wit was up there with Twain,,

He published some of his books in periodicals as installments... it made him more money that way... and being the son of a duke lent credibility for the publisher to bandy about...
