IMO Insurance companies and trial lawyers are the bulk of the problem with our healthcare. The problem being that it is too expensive.

Doctors pay ~50% of their revenue for malpractice insurance. Hospitals charge $20,000 to cash payers for something they get maybe $8,000 from insurance companies. Labs charge cash payers $150 for a test they get $19 if the patient has insurance.

That said, having the govt control healthcare is not the answer.
