In 2010 there were 24 fatal maulings by pit bulls or pit bull mixes (according to what they were called at any rate—some of these attacks included other dogs which were other breeds and I included dogs that were called pit bull type, so maybe they were or maybe they weren’t but I wanted to be fair).
So, considering how many of these dogs there are in the US I would say you have been rightly told they are rare. Of course that doesn’t fit your cute little meme so I’m sure you will continue cutting and pasting it...
